How To Download Your Catalog File From ASCAP

Downloading your catalog file from ASCAP helps you understand what is registered and what isn't so that you're collecting accordingly.

Updated over a week ago

The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers—otherwise known as ASCAP—is a U.S.-based Performing Rights Organization. They help you collect on publishing royalties owed from public broadcast such as television or film, as well as royalties from streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

You can download a Catalog file from ASCAP and upload it to Mogul which will help us audit your catalog and inform you if any royalties may be slipping through the cracks. Here's how to access that file:

Step 1: Log in to ASCAP at http://ascap.com

Step 2: Select "Works" from the left side navigation

Step 3: Below the Search Bar select the link to "Download Works"

Step 4: Select "MS. Excel" as your file format and select "Submit"

Step 5: It may take a minute or two, but eventually your "Catalog Request" will show a download button. Select Download once available.

And that's it! Once done you can upload your catalog registration file to Mogul so we can analyze and determine if you're missing out on any of your hard-earned revenue.
