SoundExchange is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes digital performance royalties to recording artists and copyright holders. It ensures fair compensation when music is played on digital platforms like internet radio, satellite radio, and streaming services, simplifying the royalty process for music creators. Uploading Your Works
Step 1: Login to SoundExchange here
Step 2: Navigate to the "My Catalog" tab and select 'Submit Recordings'
Step 3: Download the Excel File Template
Step 4: Fill in All Necessary Information Regarding Your Works
For in-depth instructions regarding filling in your information for each work, visit the 'Instructions' tab indicated by the red arrow below. For ISO codes for each country, select the 'Countries' tab indicated by the blue arrow below.
Step 5: Select 'Bulk Import' and Upload Your Completed Excel File
Note that SoundExchange runs your file through their system to validate all your information, so try to make sure all your information is correct or you will have to go back and correct it after uploading.
Step 6: Review the Summary of Your Recordings and Correct any Errors
Green boxes indicate valid data entries and red boxes indicate invalid data entries. Select each of the red boxes and correct the errors to successfully upload your works.
Step 7: After Correcting All Errors, Hit 'Submit Recordings'
