How Payments & Royalty Payouts Work at Mogul

Everything you need to know about getting paid at Mogul: setting up PayPal, the $100 payout threshold, Curve Royalties statements, and how long royalties take to arrive.

Step 1: Add your PayPal email in your dashboard settings

To receive payouts, make sure a PayPal email is on file with us in the Settings section of your Mogul dashboard. Currently, we can only pay out through PayPal, but we will be launching support for additional payment options in the coming months.

For a step-by-step walkthrough, see How to Add Your Payment Details to Mogul.

Step 2: Understand the payout threshold

Your royalties must exceed $100 USD to trigger a payout to your PayPal account. If the amount you've earned in a given month is less than that, don't worry; nothing is lost. Your balance simply rolls over into the next month and continues to accumulate until it meets the minimum threshold, at which point it will be paid out.

Step 3: Track your royalties with Curve Royalties

When royalties start coming in, you will receive an email from a service called Curve Royalties. This is where you will receive your royalty statements from Mogul.

You can connect your Curve account back into Mogul in the Sources section of your dashboard to pull your Mogul royalty data into your account. This is currently the best way to track what income has come in.

How long do royalties take to arrive?

Mogul pays out monthly, but it can sometimes take several months for initial royalties to trickle in, especially when it comes to publishing royalties and ex-U.S. publishing royalties, which move through longer collection cycles before reaching us.
