Welcome to Mogul!
Once you've subscribed, here's exactly what to do to make sure your royalties are being collected. Follow these steps in order for the best results.
Step 1: Connect your distribution sources
Head to the Sources tab and connect the distributors you use (DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, Sony Music, etc.). This is how Mogul learns about your catalog.
What to expect:
Some connections complete in seconds; others (like DistroKid) can take 5–10 minutes
You'll see a spinning indicator while a connection is in progress; this is normal
If a connection fails, don't worry; it automatically enters a retry queue. See our article on What to Do When a Source Connection Fails
Step 2: Connect your PRO
Connect your Performing Rights Organization (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN, etc.) under Sources. Mogul uses this to cross-reference your registered works and find gaps.
If you're not yet registered with a PRO, see our article: What Is a PRO and Do I Need One?
Step 3: Connect the MLC
The Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) is the main body that distributes digital mechanical royalties in the US. Connecting your MLC account allows Mogul to check which of your songs are registered there and flag any that aren't.
Step 4: Review your Registrations page
Once your sources are connected, go to the Registrations tab. You'll see:
Songs that are registered and collecting
Songs with issues that need to be fixed (the "Fix Issues" section)
Songs that aren't yet registered
Work through the to-do list to make sure all your songs are set up correctly. If you're on Mogul Register or Concierge, the team will handle this for you.
Step 5: Check your Revenue dashboard
The Revenue tab shows your earnings across all connected sources. It may take 24–48 hours for all data to fully populate after your initial connection.
