Songs in My Fixes Don't Belong to Me, What Do I Do?

Seeing songs in your Fix Issues list that you don't recognize or don't own? Here's why this happens and how to remove them.

Why unfamiliar songs appear in your Fixes

Mogul pulls data from two places to build your Fixes list: your connected distribution source (DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, etc.) and your Spotify artist profile. Between the two, this can include:

  • Songs where you're featured but don't own the composition or recording

  • Songs from another artist who shares your distributor account. For example, a label or aggregator account that releases multiple artists under one login

  • Songs from another artist with the same or similar name on Spotify

  • Remixes or alternate versions released by someone else using your artist profile

  • Songs from an older alias or a shared artist name

Mogul surfaces these as potential registration issues because it sees streams or releases attached to your connected accounts that don't have confirmed ownership data. This is especially common if your artist name is shared or similar to another artist's, or if you distribute through a shared label/aggregator account.

These songs don't affect your real registrations

Songs that appear in your Fixes that don't belong to you are not registered under your name. They're just flagged as potential issues based on your connected accounts' data. Dismissing them won't delete any real registrations or affect any royalties.

How to dismiss songs that aren't yours

  1. Find the song(s) that don't belong to you.

  2. Click the trash bin icon on the far right side of the row.

  3. Confirm the dismissal. The song will be removed from your Fix Issues list and will not reappear.

You can dismiss as many songs as you need to — there's no limit.

What if there are a lot of songs to dismiss?

If you have a large number of songs to dismiss at once (10+), contact support via the chat bubble. Let us know, and we can help bulk-dismiss them for you rather than having you do it one by one.

A song I dismissed actually is mine; how do I restore it?

If you accidentally dismissed a song that belongs to you, contact support with the song title, and we can restore it to your Fix Issues list.
