What is the Mogul MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Grok connect directly to external tools and services. The Mogul MCP brings your entire music business into your Grok conversations — so you can distribute music, manage publishing, query royalty data, generate catalog reports, and more, all through natural conversation.
Step-by-Step: Adding the Mogul MCP to Grok

Click New Connector, then select Custom

What You Can Do with Mogul + Grok
Once connected, Grok becomes your AI-powered music business manager. Here's what's possible:
🎵 Distribute a Song
Ask Grok to kick off a new release — specify the track, territories, platforms, and release date. Grok will handle the process through your Mogul account without you ever leaving the conversation.
Example prompts:
"Distribute my new single 'Wavelength' to all major platforms with a release date of July 1st."
"What's the current status of my last distribution submission?"
📝 Register Your Publishing
Register compositions, add co-writer splits, and manage publishing metadata — all in plain language.
Example prompts:
"Register 'Wavelength' for publishing with a 50/50 split between me and my co-writer."
"Show me all compositions I haven't registered for publishing yet."
💰 Talk to Your Royalty Data
Ask natural language questions about your earnings — no spreadsheets required. Get breakdowns by song, platform, territory, or time period instantly.
Example prompts:
"How much did I earn from Spotify streams last quarter?"
"Which of my songs generated the most mechanical royalties this year?"
"Compare my streaming royalties from Q1 vs Q2."
📊 Generate Custom Catalog Reports
Get tailored performance reports by artist, release, platform, or date range — no CSVs, no pivot tables.
Example prompts:
"Give me a full performance report for my album 'Night Sessions' across all platforms."
"Which 5 tracks in my catalog have grown the most in streams over the last 6 months?"
"Summarize my top-earning songs for my accountant."
🗂️ Manage Your Catalog
Browse, search, and update catalog metadata — fix song titles, add ISRC codes, update contributor credits, and keep everything accurate.
Example prompts:
"Show me all tracks missing an ISRC code."
"Update the featured artist credit on 'Wavelength' to include DJ Pulse."
📅 Stay on Top of Deadlines & Submissions
Track submission windows, pending tasks, and upcoming release or registration deadlines.
Example prompts:
"Do I have any pending submissions or tasks in Mogul right now?"
"What releases are scheduled in the next 30 days?"
Tips for Getting the Most Out of Mogul + Grok
Be specific — the more detail you give Grok (song titles, dates, platforms), the more precise the results.
Combine tasks — distribute a song and register its publishing in a single conversation.
Iterate naturally — if a report isn't quite right, just ask Grok to adjust it: "Break that down by territory instead."
Troubleshooting
I don't see a "Custom" option when adding a connector.
Business and Enterprise Grok users may need their team admin to provision the connector first via the Grok cloud console before it appears for individual members.
Mogul isn't connecting.
Double-check that you've entered the URL exactly as https://api.usemogul.com/mcp. Even a small typo will prevent the connection. Remove and re-add the connector if needed.
Grok says it can't access my Mogul data.
Try removing the connector and re-adding it at grok.com/connectors. Token permissions occasionally expire and need a refresh.
