Registering Your Music with SOCAN
Step 1: Login to SOCAN here
Step 2: Navigate to the 'My Catalogue' menu and select 'Register My Works'
Step 3: Fill Out All Necessary Information Regarding Your Work
Title & alternate titles (AKA)
Duration
Performers
Genre
Work Type
If the work includes someone else's copyrighted material (Sampling/Translation)
-If you select 'Yes' you must complete the prompted form
Shareholders
The 'Function' (role) of each shareholder
The publishing company for each shareholder
Each shareholder's affiliation with a PRO
Each shareholder's share
-All the percentages must add to 100%
-Do not add the percentage symbol (%) in these boxes
Each shareholder's IPI number
Step 4: Hit the 'Submit' button after filling out the above information
